1. Do not leave handbags in the car or valuables exposed, even if you only go for a few minutes.

2. It is recommended to rent a car with a full excess waiver. Some companies sell “no excess” insurance, but if no other vehicle is involved in an accident, they charge for the damage under a negligence clause. With us, this does not apply, and to date, none of our renters have been charged for damage.

3. Fuel prices Supervised. Many drivers prefer not to fill up with gas before returning. The rental company fills up for about 45 rand + the cost of gas.

If you refueled before returning, do so at the airport. The company will in any case fill up and even if only two liters are missing you will be charged.

4. When turning right, there is no right of way unless there is a traffic light with an arrow. You must let traffic pass first.

5. In Namibia you drive on the left. A trick for entering the correct lane : “Left close right far” – when turning left you enter the near lane and right far.

7. Don’t stick to the left . Most damage to travelers’ vehicles is damage to the left mirror and scratches on the left bumper.

8. For the toll gates in Namibia, stock up on cash (perhaps South African rand)

9. Check the car’s air pressure at the gas station in advance and consult with the locals before traveling. Many usually recommend a pressure of 150, but for certain roads the pressure will be different.

In Namibia an additional driver is included in the car rental price.

In Namibia, a young driver up to the age of 23 is charged an additional 170 rand per rental day (as of 2024).

If the driver has a license for less than 3 years , a new driver’s cost will be added, identical to the young driver’s cost.

When renting a car in Namibia, you can add a trailer for a cost of 450 Rand per day (as of 2024), but it is recommended to check with us in advance that the car has a towbar. (Group P does, for example)

If you want the car to come to you at the hotel , it is possible, but there is a cost.

Want to take the car to neighboring countries? An entry fee to neighboring countries must be paid in advance, and a letter confirming the removal of the vehicle must be received.

For reports, the rental company charges 400 Rand for each report in addition to the cost of the report. (As of 2024)

You must have a credit card with available credit in advance. We recommend having two credit cards just in case.

An international driver’s license is necessary in some destinations, but in some countries, such as South Africa, an Israeli license is sufficient, as long as it is also in English.

In South Africa, it is not mandatory to fill up with gas when returning the vehicle, but if you choose to fill up, do so at the airport. The fuel filling fee is approximately 10 shekels and the fuel price is controlled and uniform.

It is not necessary to clean the vehicle before returning it, but if the vehicle requires any unusual cleaning (such as upholstery), the rental company will charge you for the cleaning. However, it is advisable to leave it clean both out of courtesy and because when you go through the vehicle, you may find lost items.
